Formalities

After graduating, we had our year 12 formal at Shangri-La hotel on the 16th of November. We thought we would share our choice in attire.

We both individually created a mental image of the look we wanted, surrounding the dresses that we stumbled across. Coincidentally we both had the same style that we wanted to emanate, which was a mix between 20s circa and 'Old Hollywood Glamour'. We aren't your typical formal/prom obsessed gals, but we rapidly became entrenched in the essence of it all.

What Inspired Us:

Inspiration for Stephanie's hair was Kate Winslet's 40s pinned up style

Inspiration for Siobhan's hair was Dianne Kruger's side swept curls

Make up inspiration was similar for the both of us, with traditional red lips and false eyelashes with a reasonably neutral eye.

Our Tips -

1. Be open minded! We recommend that you do not go shopping solely for your formal or prom dress, but when shopping throughout the year keep your eyes appealed for a dress you love.

2. Don't confine yourself to a typical 'prom' look, instead opt for something that makes you feel comfortable and that suites your personal 'style'.

3. Look out for hair and makeup inspiration when browsing on your favourite blogs or magazine.
